|RapidVap Evaporation Systems are multiple-sample evaporators that use a combination of gentle forces — vortex motion and heat with either vacuum or nitrogen blow down — to quickly reduce samples to dryness or an end point volume.

The RapidVap Vacuum Evaporation Systems are ideal for preparation of samples in a variety of applications including drug discovery, agrichemistry, mycology testing and environmental analysis. The systems use vacuum along with heat and vortex motion to help speed evaporation and provide an alternative to traditional centrifugal evaporation methods. These systems may be used with a broad range of aggressive chemicals. Heat is supplied by a dry block heating system that, unlike water baths, adds no potential source of contamination and requires no maintenance.
The RapidVap Vacuum Evaporation Systems accommodate twelve different, interchangeable accessory sample blocks holding sample volumes from just a few milliliters to as large as 450 milliliters. As many as 110 each 12 or 13 mm tubes may be loaded at once. Additional blocks accommodate various tube types including conical centrifuge tubes and scintillation vials.
The RapidVap N2 Evaporation Systems offer a more efficient, automatic alternative to rotary evaporators and may be used with a broad range of aggressive chemicals. In RapidVap N2 Systems, a stream of nitrogen or dry gas is directed downward onto the surface of the sample. Nitrogen blow down reduces the partial pressure directly over the liquid to speed evaporation and help remove the solvent as it evaporates. Nitrogen may be programmed for 2, 4, 6 or all 8 tube locations. Vortex motion and dry heat may also be applied to further accelerate processing.
The block holds eight large samples, up to 450 milliliters each, making it efficient for environmental and residue testing. An accessory block that holds eight 170 milliliter tubes suitable for solid phase extraction is also available. In many of these applications, the samples should not go to dryness. The unique Cool-Zone block and tube design significantly reduces the evaporation rate after end point is achieved. The Cool-Zone insulates the samples and allows the researcher adequate time before the samples reach dryness to remove them or to perform solvent exchange procedures. Alarms that signal when timed end point has occurred and when the RapidVap senses that the process is nearing completion allow for unattended operation.
RapidVap N2/48 Evaporation Systems use nitrogen blow down, vortex motion and heat to speed evaporation of up to 48 small samples or eight 450 milliliter samples at once. A stream of nitrogen or dry gas is directed downward onto the surface of the sample. Nitrogen blow down reduces the partial pressure directly over the liquid to speed evaporation and help remove the solvent as it evaporates. These Systems may be used to prepare samples for applications such as drug development and metabolism, bioresearch, combinatorial chemistry, environmental testing, forensics and toxicology.
There are eight clusters of six ports each. Nitrogen may be delivered to 2, 4, 6 or 8 clusters at once so that nitrogen is conserved when a full load is not required. Microprocessor-controlled vortex motion increases surface area for faster evaporation while continually mixing the sample to maximize recovery. Utilizing a dry block heating method, RapidVap N2/48 Systems provide a more reliable alternative to maintenance-intensive, contamination-prone water baths.
Using dry heat and nitrogen blow down, the RapidVap Vertex Evaporator speeds evaporation of up to 50 samples at the same time. A convenient touchpad allows easy programming of time and temperature. Up to ten different programs may be stored in the microprocessor for protocol consistency. Unlike water bath heaters, the dry block heater requires less maintenance, no distilled water or additives, and adds no potential source of contamination. The RapidVap Vertex Evaporator is ideal for preparation of samples in a variety of applications including drug discovery, clinical analysis, environmental testing, agrochemistry, and forensic evidence processing.
ChemVac Combination Pumps integrate a high performance rotary vane pump with a chemical-resistant diaphragm pump to create a low maintenance, longer-lasting pump. The diaphragm pump removes the condensable vapors in the rotary vane pump before they can contaminate the oil, thus extending the life of the oil and ultimately the life of the pump. Pump oil lasts up to 10 times longer than in conventional rotary vane pumps under virtually any condition. Long periods between oil changes reduce cost and down time.
Rotary Vane Direct Drive Vacuum Pumps provide a reliable vacuum source for a variety of laboratory products including FreeZone Freeze Dry Systems, Protector Controlled Atmosphere Glove Boxes and CentriVap Centrifugal Concentrators. These pumps are available with displacement capacities of 117 or 195 liters per minute (at 60 Hz).
A Block is required for all RapidVap systems. All blocks are interchangeable. You can select from the range of blocks as per your requirement.
RapidVap Tubes,that are unique to RapidVap Vacuum and N2 Evaporation Systems are made of borosilicate ground glass that offer better fit and heat transfer for faster evaporation rates. RapidVap Tubes with stems are designed for use with Cool-Zone timed end point determinations. To minimize evaporation time, the tube with the correct end point stem should be used. Flat-Bottom tubes are for use in applications when the samples are taken to dryness. Tubes are available sold individually and in packages of eight.
